Ben Riding, artist and curator
Ben completed a Bachelor of Arts (Art) at Curtin University of Technology and since then has been involved in the production and coordination of a number of art projects. Most notably, Ben was co-curator and coordinator of Hotel6151, a major international multi-arts project involving more than fifty artist, theorists, performers, fashion designers, musicians and filmmakers from around the world. Hotel6151 gained international success and was widely written about throughout Australia, Spain, France and England.
Since Hotel6151, Ben continues to develop his project LAUNCH ART, which aims to provide active working environments for emerging and established artists of all disciplines. LAUNCH ART enables the opportunity for new ways of approaching, dealing with and executing ideas, and creates a forum for these approaches to be discussed and critiqued. Ben’s artistic practice continues in parallel to these projects. Now residing in Sydney, he has a number of solo and group projects lined up for 2009.
