Bruce Slatter, artist

Born in 1971, Bruce has a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts), Bachelor of Arts (Art) (Hons) and a Master of Arts (Visual Arts) from Curtin University of Technology and is currently enrolled in a PhD at RMIT University. Bruce is a lecturer in sculpture in the Department of Art, School of Design & Art, Curtin University. He has had two solo shows: Scenario (2005) and Way, Shape or Form (2007) at Galerie Dusseldorf, Perth and has participated in a number of group shows, including Land of the Giants curated by Consuelo Cavaniglia and Brendan van Hek, Moores Building, Fremantle (2005); From Space to Place, IASKA national touring project, curated by Marco Marcon, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (2005); Mnemotech, curated by Bec Dean, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (2002); Parallel Worlds, curated by Kate McMillan, Perth International Arts Festival (2002); and Appearance, Goddard de Fiddes, Perth (2002). Bruce won the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize, Sydney (2004) and Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe (2007). Slatter’s work is held in various private and institutional collections, including the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Artbank, Woollahra City Council Sydney and the Liz + Lloyd Horn Collection. Bruce is represented by Galerie Düsseldorf, Perth.
